I approach branding and design as a powerful form of visual communication, solving creative problems to help brands connect with their audiences on a deeper level. With 8+ years of experience, I've developed a keen understanding of how to translate marketing objectives into visually engaging designs that capture attention and leave a lasting impression. I'm proficient in industry-standard design software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and I'm passionate about collaborating to understand unique project needs and develop tailored design solutions that exceed expectations.

2023 SK Ball Rebrand and Event Materials

  • The SK Ball is an annual western themed fundraising gala hosted by Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest. In 2023, I led a comprehensive rebranding initiative as the sole designer to modernize the event's image and elevate its overall perception while retaining its traditional Western theme. The resulting visual identity achieved a sophisticated and impactful look, drawing inspiration from the popular series "Yellowstone" to create a unique cattle brand-inspired design element using the "SK" of the event's name, complemented by a refined black and gold color palette.

  • Sole Designer and Brand Strategist. I was responsible for all aspects of the design process, from conceptualizing and executing the rebrand to designing all event materials and ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints.

  • The SK Ball's existing branding felt dated and did not accurately reflect the desired balance of Western charm and modern elegance. The challenge was to create a new visual identity that would modernize the event's image, appeal to the target audience, enhance the overall attendee experience, and maintain a connection to the event's Western roots, all while managing the entire design process independently.

  • As the sole designer, I spearheaded a comprehensive rebranding initiative for the 2023 SK Ball, developing a fresh, new look that was implemented across all event materials. To retain the event's Western theme while adding a touch of sophistication, I drew inspiration from the popular series "Yellowstone," specifically focusing on the aesthetic of cattle branding. This led to the creation of a unique design element where the "SK" from the event name, SK Ball, was stylized to resemble a cattle brand stamp. This design element was central to the new visual identity. This included:

    • Brand Identity: Developed a new logo incorporating the "SK" cattle brand design element, defined a new color palette centered around sophisticated black and gold, and selected new fonts. The cattle brand element was integrated thoughtfully throughout the materials, evoking a sense of rustic elegance.

    • Event Materials: Designed a wide range of event collateral, including:

      • Invitations Save-the-Dates

      • Programs Event Schedules and Booklets

      • Signage Welcome Signs, Directional Signs, and Banners

      • Table Numbers

        Presentation Decks/Slides

      • Promotional Materials

  • The rebranded 2023 SK Ball was perceived as more sophisticated resulting in:

    • increased attendee satisfaction and greater sponsor interest.
